Our Fees, Hourly Rates & Cost Transparency
In accordance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Transparency Rules, we publish our complete schedule of fixed fees, hourly charging rates, VAT treatment, third-party disbursements, conveyancing supplements, and the qualifications of the legal professionals handling your matter.
Clear Basis of Charging
Before accepting instructions, we issue a formal Client Care Letter confirming whether your matter is funded on an Agreed Fixed Fee, Hourly Rate, Conditional Fee Agreement (CFA), or Damages-Based Agreement (DBA).
VAT & Disbursements Clarity
All our legal fees attract Value Added Tax (VAT) at the current statutory rate of 20% where applicable. We clearly distinguish VAT-exempt statutory fees (Home Office, Court, and HM Land Registry fees) from disbursements that attract 20% VAT.
SRA Client Account Protection
All client monies and payments on account (typically 50% of quoted fee, VAT, and initial disbursements in conveyancing) are held strictly in our designated SRA-regulated Client Account.
Instant Legal Fee & Disbursement Estimator
In accordance with the SRA Transparency Rules, obtain an itemized legal fee estimate showing our fixed legal fee, 20% VAT, and third-party disbursements.

General Guide to Litigation & Contentious Legal Fees
In cases of personal injury, debt recovery, commercial/contract disputes, family financial settlements, employment law, and contentious litigation, our charges depend upon six core factors: (1) the degree of urgency in your case or transaction; (2) the complexity of your case or transaction; (3) the importance of your case or transaction; (4) the amount of any money or property value involved; (5) the skill and experience of the solicitor dealing with your case; and (6) the means and basis of funding agreed with you:
1. Agreed Fixed Fees
At the time of accepting instructions, we agree to charge a fixed amount. You will not pay more than the agreed figure unless the matter is unexpectedly prolonged in exceptional circumstances—in which case you will never be caught by surprise and will be informed promptly in writing.
2. Hourly Rate (+ 20% VAT)
Our standard hourly charge starts from £165 per hour + VAT (£198 inc. VAT) for solicitors with less than 4 years of experience up to £400 per hour + VAT (£480 inc. VAT) for Directors and senior solicitors with more than 8 years of experience, depending on the level of expertise and complexity of the work.
3. Conditional Fee Agreements (CFA)
Conditional Fee Agreements (“No Win, No Fee” or “No Win, Pay Less”) are used in contentious business meeting the requirements of the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990 (as amended by s.27 Access to Justice Act 1999). Common in road traffic accidents, personal injury, and immigration judicial reviews/appeals in the Upper Tribunal, Court of Appeal, or Supreme Court.
4. Damages-Based Agreements (DBA)
Depending on the nature of the claim and scope of risk, our damages-based fees normally range from 20% to 35% of the damages or financial settlement sum recovered by the client (only payable upon recovery of a financial benefit, in accordance with the Damages-Based Agreements Regulations 2013).
